๐ŸŒˆ Steam Deck Brings Back Childhood ๐ŸŒˆ

I haven't played games for about 7 years (since I bought my first Mac ๐Ÿ˜ข), but it's the Steam Deck that reignited my joy of gaming.

I've had the Steam Deck for half a year now, and here's what I've realized:

    โ€“ I move around a lot, so I can't afford a stationary gaming PC.

โ€“ I don't want to burden my Mac with games (the Air without fans will die quickly, and I don't want to get a Pro yet).

โ€“ I don't want to install Windows on my Mac (or on the Steam Deck, for that matter).

โ€“ Even if I could afford a stationary setup, I'd still buy a Steam Deck because, surprisingly, the main thing that allows me to play games is that you can sit/lie down/stand anywhere there's an outlet, press the power button, and continue playing from where you left off in just 2 seconds.

However, I absolutely cannot overcome the barrier of "sitting in a specific spot, turning on the PC/console, launching a game" โ€“ the desire to play disappears instantly.

โ€“ I only use it at home, so I don't have any issues with power efficiency.

โ€“ I'm not a graphics snob; gameplay is everything, so minimal settings would be enough for me, but it handles quite high settings.

โ€“ If desired, you can even run old games without installing Windows (Gothic 2, VTMB, etc.).

โ€“ If I need to play with a keyboard, I connect the Steam Deck to my Mac via an Ethernet cable with a Type-C adapter and launch Steam Link (minimal lag).

โ€“ The Steam Dock station is a must-have.

โ€“ The emulator (EmuDeck) is installed and configured in an hour or two, and playing on it is a pure joy (I'm loving Zelda BoW).

โ€“ The screen is small, but at arm's length, a much larger screen would strain my eyes.

โ€“ I'll probably sell my current one soon and buy a new OLED 1TB model (I currently have the LCD 512 GB).

โ€“ It also serves as a backup development device if something goes wrong with my Mac.

    Conclusion

The Deck is worth every penny.

If you, like me, want to rediscover the joy of gaming, but your PC/laptop/console is gathering dust, there's a high chance the Steam Deck will rekindle those old feelings.

    Write code on this?)

I haven't played anything for many years, except for time-killers on my phone like Japanese crosswords. Recently, I tried playing on Windows (I have a computer nearby) - I felt nostalgic, and even installed GTA SA. It lasted for a day. I don't feel like doing anything again. I proved to myself once again that Windows quirks are disgusting. So, no thanks)

For some reason, my eyes are watering from the Steam Deck OLED.

In terms of brightness / contrast / the display being too large for the distance of the eyes to the screen?

I'm sitting here playing a game and my eyes get tired quickly, maybe it's the shimmer or something else. It feels like sand. I don't have this problem with other devices.

Damn... too bad... I have an LCD and can't say there's a similar problem

I'm really curious about trying LSD.

Will the eyes leak the same way, or is this Shim?
