What's happened over the past 8 months (oh lord, how time flies...) of my silence:
i. I've written another whitepaper
clientful – an architecture for developing real-time collaborative offline-first applications without traditional backend services and databases
This thing is very different from both traditional web 2.0 and web 3.0. It's closest to offline-first / local-first, but even there, synchronization usually occurs with a central server. My methodology assumes that there is no centralization and all data is synchronized fully p2p.
And the most interesting thing – it works and has even made it to production, which I'll talk about below.
ii. I've developed and released 3 products
1. Spectra (spectra.palatine.ru) – we photograph products on a conveyor belt with a camera, analyze them with CV, make a decision if the product is defective, and remove defective products from the conveyor belt. All of this happens offline and within 900ms using 15 CV models per product.
2. Tempera Palatine – together with palatine, I developed a desktop analog of Miro with built-in GenAI that works completely offline. It has both single-user and collaborative modes, thanks to clientful.
3. Mooden (mooden.app) – an app in the style of a "mood tracker", but with some specific mechanisms for people with unstable moods. I also used clientful here – there's no backend, the entire app is frontend, and the database is stored in Google Drive and automatically synchronized across all of the user's devices.
iii. What's next for the channel
I'll start releasing articles about each of the products, with links, creation stories, and technical know-how that I had to come up with to make them work.
My projects have ended, and it's time to move on, so I'm looking for a job as a Tech Lead (Go / Node.js / Python). My resume and more details will be in the next posts.
I'll also be renaming this channel 😢 – I'm afraid that "IT-Kachalka" has outlived itself, and there will be a new branding with a serious table, BUT the essence of crappy jokes and grunting will remain in place.
